Considerable research suggests that approximately 25% of job
opportunities are ever advertised and fall within the open market.
The remaining 75% - the hidden opportunities - are often overlooked
by the job seeker who is unaware of their existence and the techniques
for accessing them. By developing a community job portal, we are
able to provide an affordable single repository for both opportunities
and seekers.
LouisvilleWorks.com
is a regional job portal that makes searching for career opportunities
and/or searching for qualified candidates easier than ever. This
site offers solutions for many of the concerns about on-line job
posting systems.
The portal provides real-time job matching against skills required
for a position, eliminates duplication of resumes submitted for
a particular job, notifies job seekers when a position for which
they have applied has been filled, and many other evolving features
intended to save both "hunter and hirer" time and trouble.
The portal is free to all job seekers. Once
registered, seekers can use the advanced search tool to locate
and apply for full- and part-time jobs, co-op/intern positions,
and civic leadership positions. Also, the job seeker can create
a professional profile, which allows them continuous notification
about future relevant career opportunities.
Employers who post jobs will be able to access resumes of candidates
interested in their open positions, and the system includes job
matching capabilities, skill-based resume sorting, and applicant
tracking. Various pricing options are available. Employer
information can be obtained by clicking here
or calling (502) 244-4149.
What is the BrainGain Alliance?
The BrainGain Alliance oversees LouisvilleWorks.com. The
BrainGain Alliance is a partnership among Greater Louisville Inc.,
Career Resources Inc., MyCareerNetwork.com, and KentuckianaWorks.
Why was the BrainGain Alliance formed?
“Creating a central database of job openings and job seekers”
was a strategic recommendation of the Greater Louisville 1997
Community Visioning Report to promote long-term regional growth.
To successfully spearhead this initiative, the BrainGain Alliance
was formed to oversee the development of the LouisvilleWorks.com
portal.
What do you mean by civic leadership?
Research suggests that to make a successful long-term connection
between a job seeker and the community, the community must provide
opportunities for people to explore new realms and work with their
passions. Civic leadership opportunities include Board and Committee
openings from throughout the community that require “passion.”
What are the co-op/internship positions?
To retain our young people – 18 and older - within the
community, we offer a free community service which allows businesses
to promote co-op/internship opportunities at no charge. To place
an internship opportunity on the site, please email sales@mycareernetwork.com or call at 244-4149. Please note that the employer
and job seeker are responsible for working directly with the school
to fill out the paperwork for credit.
